COMPETITION: The Grand Divide

20th March 2024

Competition: The Grand Divide

Competition time! This spring, we are encouraging people young and old to ‘bridge the generational gap’, and reconnect with their loved ones by train.  With new research revealing that most grandchildren begin to lose touch with their grandparents when they are just 16 years old, we have launched a competition to help nurture and support these valuable intergenerational relationships.

As part of the competition we are offering five lucky duos of grandchild and grandparent, or honorary grandparent/grandchild, the chance to get together and recreate one of their most cherished memories by train.

Whether it's a day at the beach, a trip to the highlands, a museum day out, or being able to take part in a favourite pastime, we want to hear about it.

How to enter

For a chance to win, you must either -

  • email granddivide@goodrelations.co.uk with a photograph you wish to recreate accompanied by 100-150 words describing the significance of the memory, and where in Britain it was taken; or -
  • post the picture you wish to recreate to Instagram tagging @national.rail and including a brief description of the memory and its location in the caption.

Competition closes 3 April. T&Cs apply.
