Travel Advice

When you travel by train we want you to travel with confidence which is why the rail industry has:

  • Maximised space - made extra room to help with social distancing and designed timetables to maximise services at the busiest stations and times of day to reduce delays
  • Boosted cleaning - making sure trains and stations are cleaned more frequently to give added protection
  • Helped with hygiene - installed hand sanitiser points in over 300 stations and replenish soap in stations and on trains more frequently
  • Improved information - launched a new service that alerts you to crowding and disruption on your journey before you travel
  • Book with Confidence - If your plans change, you can amend date and time of Advanced tickets fee free up until 6pm the day before you travel, and until 31/03/22. (Fare price difference may apply. Advance tickets purchased online can be exchanged for a voucher for future journey. Fee free changes also apply to Off-Peak and Anytime tickets, up to the date of departure.)

When you travel by train please:
