Christmas Crafting and Sparkly Lights

If your home looks like it could do with a bit of Christmas cheer why not take inspiration from the wonderful Christmas garlands and crafting ideas as seen on last week's Love Your Weekend. The lead up to Christmas is a great time to get all of the family creative. If you fancy having a go at creating your own homemade masterpiece to hang on your front door or down your banister, then here’s a selection of festive garden centres for you to visit this month. Battersea has a garden centre & flower shop called “Battersea Flower Station” - it couldn’t be more fitting! This quirky hidden gem is great for finding all the bits you need to make your own Christmas decorations.

Nearest station: Clapham Junction then it’s just a 10-minute walk.

Looking for some decoration inspiration for your own winter wonderland at home? Why not check out some of Britain’s most famous Christmas lights and take the family on a Christmas lights tour - it’s also a great way to get those steps in before the big day!

Start your tour at one of the most famous Christmas light displays in the world, Oxford Street in central London. This year the lights celebrate the heroes of 2020 and contain a heart-warming poem called ‘To London With Love’.

Nearest train station: Charring Cross or Oxford Circus Underground

While you're in town visit the Shard Christmas lights which consist of an incredible 575 LED lights spread over 28 stories. The lights have been sending thank you messages in Morse Code to honour NHS and key workers. Their special festive colourful light display will run from the 11th December until New Years Eve, so don’t miss it.

This year the stunning Norwich Tunnel of Light on Hayhill returns much to the delight of locals. The Instagram worthy tunnel is an incredible 45 meters long, one of the longest in Europe.
